Preparing for my appeal
I have prepared for my appeal. As much as I am able to given that I have no idea how these things go. THe really interesting thing is.... OK, I can`t say anything about who I worked for etc but... My organisation merged with a similar organisation. We were all promised that there would be no redundancies, Ha ha I hear you say. Today i got a call from an ex workmate, who said that lots of managers at my level have been called into disciplinaries and are being sacked. Well call me a cynic, but It seems obvious to me that this is a cheap way of cutting costs and reducing staff numbers. Yesterday I went on the Consumer Advice Group Forum and I could not believe how many people had posted about being sacked. There is a huge increase in posts on this subject since the end of September when I last looked at that forum. We are victims of the economic recession, but unlike those lucky enough to be given redundancy or severance packages, we, lose our rights to any insurance we have paid for, do not get redundancy or severance packages, and find it virtually impossible to get another job as our reputations are ruined. Some people also lose their pensions. How about that then. Triple shafted,You work your socks off, get pushed out on some flimsy excuse and then lose your pension. Its worse than just having to start again. You are in negative equity for your working life. And to be honest, I am fast losing belief in the legal systems ability to support my rights. Think I better move to America, at least there I stand a chance of being president. .. Well maybe not, Mixed race and a woman, I think that might be too much even for America. Ha ha
